HSM Teams up with Comfort Coil and FFO Home to Donate Mattresses to Tornado Victims
HSM, the global manufacturer of components and provider of integrated solutions to the transportation, furniture, bedding and a growing number of diversified markets, recently responded to the devastation left behind by an EF4 tornado in central Arkansas by donating fabric-encased coils and supplying foam for mattresses that were manufactured and delivered to tornado victims living in Vilonia and Mayflower, Arkansas. Both towns took a direct hit from the April 27 tornado, which took 16 lives and destroyed between 400 and 500 homes in these communities.
HSM locations in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and Fort Smith, Arkansas, worked together to assist Comfort Coil in manufacturing a truckload of mattresses that used 100 fabric-encased coils donated by HSM Sheboygan and foam purchased from the Fort Smith facility. Comfort Coil, a subsidiary of FFO Home, assembled the twin mattresses and distributed them at the FFO Home location at 6527 Warden Road in Sherwood, Arkansas.
"So many people suffered devastating losses that are beyond description," said Homer Smith, HSM account representative. "It's nice to know that HSM as a company can pool its resources and find a practical and meaningful way to offer help to those who have lost so much."
