HSM to Launch Premium Made in the U.S. Hospitality & Long-Term Residential Use Sleeper Sofa Mechanism & Mattress
HICKORY, N.C. – HSM is targeting the upper-end upholstery market with a new domestically produced all-inclusive sofa-sleeper mechanism. Suitable for residential and hospitality furniture, The Resorter, will debut at the Home Furnishings Manufacturing Solutions Expo, July 17-18 at the Metro Convention Center in Hickory. This new mechanism is designed for long-term daily use and comes complete with an affixed mattress that can fit into the standard sleeper sofa frame used by virtually all furniture manufacturers.
Manufactured by HSM in Hickory, North Carolina, the units are produced by expert assemblers and are exempt from tariffs. With domestic assembly, Hickory Springs promises quick lead-times and more flexible order quantity requirements than full container orders often required for import purchases.
“We are thrilled to offer our customers a premium U.S.-made sleeper unit with domestically sourced raw materials,” said Jason Porter, vice president of sales for furniture with HSM’s Hickory Springs division. “This is a game-changer. Not only does it offer our customers a high-quality, low-cost alternative to the imported units available in the industry today, it also allows for a more comfortable night’s sleep than other mechanisms in the marketplace.
“We’ve eliminated the ubiquitous metal bar – and the discomfort that goes along with it – and have engineered a product that also prevents the sleeper mattresses from sagging,” he continued. “Designed without the helical springs that can give the mattress a ‘bouncy’ feel, mattress sag is drastically reduced, resulting in a more comfortable, relaxing night’s sleep that is more suitable for long-term use.”
The mechanism is available with three mattress options: a premium version with high-density foam core and a top latex comfort layer, a deluxe version with gel-infused memory foam on top of foam core and a value-oriented model with high-density foam.
The unit will be on display in HSM’s booth at the Home Furnishings Manufacturing Solutions Expo, in space 1315.
